Hello

Do you wear contact lenses?

I'm going to replace glasses - contact lenses - hence my questions and concerns...

Thanks in advance for all opinions.

Hi!
I wore glasses for a few years, then contact lenses for about 15 years, then switched back to glasses for a few years and since the beginning of this year: Nothing!
I met people who cured their eyesight naturally through better seeing habits, some exercises and especially not using their glasses anymore.
So I'm following the same path.
Not always easy but well worth it.
There are quite a few books out there on the topic.
They're all pretty much based on the Bates method.
The first I read was take off your glasses and see, by Jacob Liberman

So I would say, just forget about your lenses and relearn to see naturally!

Hi,

Jerome, did you simple put off your glasses, for driving your car too?

I'm using the bates method too and have improved my eyesight with that, but its definitively not 100% perfect right now. I'm pretty shure the 811-lifestyle will help in the future.

best from Germany,

George

Hi George!
well it's now been more than 5 months that I put off my glasses and didn't need to drive until very recently, so I had no concern about that.
I ride my bicycle a lot though and this wasn't a problem, especially on a sunny day.
I recently had to drive to take my mom to hospital, a 20 km ride.
And that was hard.
I tried without the glasses and it felt unsafe, especially since the windshield cuts some of the light off, which makes things worse.
So I used my former glasses (reduced prescription). I could see clearly with each eye independently but not with the 2 together as I would see crossed eye, which would make me see cars double... It also gave me a headache quickly.
So I prefer not to drive for now.
The improvements are not very fast in my case and I actually stopped the exercises for a month to "see" what would happen. Well, not much happened at all ;-)
So I'm back on doing them more regularly.
Coincidentally, it seems to me that my eyesight is slightly better today :-)
I can see things on my computer a bit clearer at a distance.
This is mostly where I have noticed improvements in my own case so far, but still very far from perfect sight!

I also want to fast at some point as I'm sure it would help

Let us know how it goes for you!

Hi Jerome,

my goodness, take care of you when driving a car!

I came up on Bates Method one year ago, and was very motivated in practicing my eyesight training. But at this time I was in not a good health, smoking cigarettes and eating very much cooked food etc. – but still I was recognizing improvements... isn't it fantastic, the human body?

January 2012 I went fully raw, but still smoking... Than in March i quitted it - used the "releasing techniques" and had no cravings for smoke ever again... totaly "healed" my mind. This turned my eyesight automatically for the better and right now, every morning my eyes see better than last evening. But I wear my contact lenses (reduced prescription also).

Your post gave me the Idea to stop wearing crooks for my eyes and just see what happens if I don't wear any of that. hmm, I'm still wondering... everytime I go for running without lenses, I have a better feeling, more naturally.

Since 1 Month I'm on the 811 Lifestyle and I'm very excited with my new life.

best,

George

This sounds all very good and promising George!
The human body is indeed a great thing!
Don't worry I'm still very careful when I drive and I actually decided not to drive anymore for now.
I would greatly recommend getting glasses instead of contacts, it's so much easier to put them down and only use them when "necessary". For me so far, that would only be for driving, although many other occasions are challenging without them.

I wish my parents would have known about the Bates method when I was little, instead of getting me glasses!

I found out about it a few years ago, and tried a lot of the exercises but I thought I'd probably spend more or just as much on the prescriptions stepping down from my current prescription (with glasses and contacts) than I would just getting surgery, and so I stopped doing it. I don't know what my glasses prescription was but for contacts I was -5.75 in one eye and -6.25 in the other. I couldn't drive without them. I tried taking walks without them but when I would try going whole days, I just couldn't do it. I had to sit too close to the computer screen, couldn't read sheet music, of course couldn't drive.... So then I got RPK back in 2009. lol. What are your prescriptions? Is anyone having luck with really bad vision?

To me it's not a matter of price or convenience, otherwise I would have done the surgery a long time ago. But there is nothing that would beat getting back my perfect eyesight Naturally!
Plus I only did 1 pair of glasses of reduced prescription and forgot about them altogether 6 months ago.
It is challenging and sometimes I feel like giving up but sometimes I feel that I'm going in the right direction too, so I keep going after my dream! Actually yesterday night and this morning it felt to me as if I saw a little better while reading and on my computer.
Using the computer was a real challenge for me at the beginning and now I'm comfortable on it and don't have to stick my face on the screen or zoom in on the screen all the time :-)
My prescription was -4 and -3 roughly. Not as bad as yours but very strong still
