Hey Folks,

Has anyone had problems with cracks at the side of the mouth since 811?? I've been raw almost 3 years, and 811 about 4 months. I love it, I feel the best I've ever felt. But a crack on one side of my mouth appeared about a month ago. A few days later it started on the other side too. I googled and self evaluated that it was a possible vitamin B deficiency. So I took b vitamins and felt GREAT! It also it cleared up-for several days. It has now reappeared and I'm not sure what this means? :-(

So I'm asking has this happened to anyone? I innately believe that "God's bounty" should provide all the nutrients that we humans need.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thx!!

Hi! I used to have that once in a while when on a standard diet but usually it was mostly because of cold or dry weather.

Do you still consume the B Vitamins?
What do you eat on a typical day? Do you feel like you're getting enough calories?

Yes I'm still taking a B vitamin and a B12. I'm eating an abundance of fresh organic fruit all day, then a big green salad for dinner. Occasionally a raw gourmet meal. I just started taking an anti-fungal cream, so I guess we'll see? This never happened while I was eating SAD (not that I'd ever consider it again) but I wonder why this is happening?...

Hi

Whenever I've had this problem it has been caused by my damaging the corners of my mouth (through my toothbrush, flossing, salty food = sharp salt crystals) the saliva then can then get at the unprotected skin and start eating it away! Paying attention to not injuring it any more and keeping the saliva away as best I can is the way I handle it.

Thanks Rich, I've taken an anti fungal cream and it seems to be helping!...
