Hi, I am an old woman of 67. Since my mother and two of my three older sisters died at age 70, I figured I had better get serious on loving the rest of my life.

I had a hard life, being an alcoholic and taking the last drink in 1974. I had two battles with tuberculosis because of the starvation incurred from a diet of alcohol. I had a long history of streptomycin and rifampin for the first bout of pulmonary tuberculosis and more serious antibiotics of the next episode of miliary pulmonary infection and a cavity in the kidneys. For many long years I had digestive problems and experimented with different healings, including carrot juices and goat's milk.

After severe gastroesophageal reflux disease, I studied digestion and found out that the bacterial colonies in our gut is what actually digests our food. I began to realize that all preservatives were in our foods to kill bacteria. I thought, "What if the preservatives kill all the bacteria in our gut?" So I experimented by only eating foods with no bacteria killers in it and I healed my gastroesophageal reflux disease.

I had been drinking raw goat's milk and grass-fed meats as well as growing a lot of my vegetables. But I still had this problem of obesity, 205 at 5 ft 1 in. I also had osteoarthritis worsening with each year. In 2007, I moved to the wilds of West Texas and my lungs are healing from the clear air and my activity level increased with retirement since I did not have to sit keying medical reports for 12 hours a day!

I saw the film, "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and in October of this year began a fruit/vegetable juice fast and dropped lots of weight. As I was nearing the time to go back to solid foods, I started researching on the net, particularly Amazon on diet books. I found 80/10/10 Diet and The China Study. Both of those books convinced me to go on a plant-based diet and Dr. Graham's book was fascinating to me. I decided to try the 80/10/10 since it was low in fat and I needed to lose more fat wanting to reduce 60 pounds more to a minimum, at least, of 120 pounds.

I have repetitive stress osteoarthritis from a congenital club foot and refuse, absolutely refuse, joint replacements of my hips and knees. So far the joints are still rounded and smooth, but have no cartilage.

I feel really great on the diet and have had no problems digesting any of it. Since it is winter and I miss my daily hot PG Tips Tea with a tablespoon of maple syrup in it, I have at least switched to hot herbal teas and hope to give them up come spring. (I sweeten it with one packet of Stevia, too)!

My last lab tests showed a condition called "prediabetes," which I have had for years. My blood levels were normal except other plant-based doctors say the normal values are too high so I expect after a while if I get more tests, hopefully those conditions will have improved.

I take no medication. What is amazing is that when I was transcribing medical reports, most of the doctor's visits were trying to figure which of the 30 medications that were prescribed for elderly people was causing this week's symptoms.

I hope to continue to reduce my arthritis pain and to remain mobile and active. I will be planting more fruit trees in the coming months and increasing my vegetable garden. I, of course, garden organically. I just had purchased 25 more chickens! I guess I will just sell those eggs and feed them to the dogs. I have one dog that guards the chickens and 2 Pyrenees that guard the goats. I will feed the goat's milk to the dogs too!

I will enjoy this forum very much as I observe so many young people with the sense not to ruin their health in their youth as well as older people, like me, who are "getting it" even if it is rather late in life.

Hi, I happened upon Dr. Graham's website about a week ago, and I finally purchased his book 80-10-10. So far I have read about 150 pages and I'm enjoying it tremendously. I have been vegan for the past year and a half, and I have read Dr. Fuhrman's book and watched Dr. Esselstyn in "Food Matters". I have been feeling good, but not excellent. Reading the little amount I've read from Dr. Graham's book and watching some of the videos on his website, I am excited to take my health to the next level and transition to being a raw vegan. I started the transition yesterday, and so far so good. I have a few ailments I am hoping will cease by adopting this new way of eating: a skin rash that randomly appears and disappears on different parts of my body; and, a continual runny nose. In addition, I hope to bring my body fat percentage down to a lean 13-15% from 20%, which is where I'm at presently. I am weight training daily and hiking about 3 miles, 3 to 5 times per week. I enjoy running, but am prone to injuries. Today I ate 3 bananas, 1 mango, 1 tangerine, 2 dates, and a green salad with beets, mushrooms, red onion, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and a quarter of an avocado. In addition I ate 3 very small baked potatoes (yes I know that wasn't raw), and three small squares of dark chocolate (yes, I know that's not allowed either). I am trying to transition slowly, so that I don't sabotage myself. Any suggestions in any area would be so greatly appreciated for a newbie like me. I want to make sure I stay connected to a community of like-minded people so I can succeed.

Thank you in advance and Happy Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone,
My name is Graham and I live in Ireland.
I am vegan since jan 2011 and have turned to 80-10-10 in may after feeling very lethargic. I beleive i was not getting in enough calories. Anyways I sorted that out and had a good few months eating 811rv. I did slip for a while and started eating cooked food on weekends but at the time I figured I wasn't doing to bad. But over the past few weeks I completely fell off the rails, I had pizza with cheese and butterd bread , chocolate etc...
I am now back on track eating clean food.

I feel that I need to be connected to someone to share my expereinces for me to be successful with 811rv. Nobody in my life participates in this or a similar lifestyle so it is hard for me, especially at social events. It is hard because I cannot discuss the issues we face as 811rv'ers with anyone who understands.

So I suppose that is why I am here. I really want to connect with you guys and I would be really happy if you would help me.

Graham Hyland

I am in an area where eating only fruits and vegetables certifies you as insane! I get my "fix" here every day to keep on track. Welcome and hang in there. I have been 100% on 80/10/10, but still fighting cravings, particularly salt cravings. At a local restaurant yesterday, I watched others eating the "other" food and it was not pretty like vegetables are. I have had a lifetime of eating all those other foods and it still haunts me, but I realize my only hope for an increased, active life is only possible through this way of eating and exercising. The younger you are when you start the more active and less painful your life will be.

I've been doing 80-10-10 since July after reading 80-10-10 (before that I was eating raw with too many nuts). I also got the videotapes and they are GREAT! I live in New York City and would love to find other people who are eating this way! I definitely have more energy, but I have lost weight (and I was already thin). I've been eating about 1700 calories a day (I checked on nutridiary), but maybe I need to eat more...

Hello, my name is Modestas, I'm from Lithuania. I've been a vegetarian for years, got introduced to Dr Greger's videos @ nutritionfacts.org and became vegan, after some months got introduced to raw vegan concept and liked it so googled and found Dr Doug Graham I think through RawFitBitch youtube channel. :D I listened to his audiotapes The Perfect Health Program, read Grain Damage. The message is clear and straight. Going raw 811 for a month or so, I like it but I'm looking forward to solve some nutrition, hygiene problems in this forum that were not mentioned in Dr Graham's works.

Hi,
Just discovered these forums so thought it might be good to join in. I came across 80/10/10 in the summer of 2010 having struggled with my diet for a while after cutting out grains & dairy and it was the answer to my problems! However I am a little odd now among my friends, who all think I have some kind of banana addiction, so it's good to connect with others sometimes. I'm also a keen runner & swimmer (big fan of chirunning & TI) and strength training, which is my main focus these days. I'm 40 and work as a software developer near London, UK.

Hi,

My nickname is Basia. It is great to hear other people's experiences! I started eating raw foods about 15 years ago. I had a lot of health problems from mercury fillings, including severe depression and chronic fatigue. It took me several years to feel better, and I didn't know about low fat. I kept eating raw food because cooked food made me depressed and unable to concentrate, but I continued to struggle with my health and energy. Last year, I started feeling terrible (too many high-fat raw recipes), and then I found out about 80-10-10 and read the book and got videos. What a difference! I have MUCH more energy. I still have days when I don't feel so great, but maybe part of the problem is I have a stressful job and I don't get enough sleep (I am going to school at night). I would love to meet other people in New York City who are doing this. I'm 50 and I teach high school.

I have been enjoying your postings, Banquo. I feel like one of Heinlein's characters, a very strange stranger in a strange land, as I am 811 in a ranching community where meat, not only means food, but also money! I have to keep my non-meat eating a really big secret or I will be tarred and feathered!

I am glad also that software development will have a clear head writing software! Some of it is truly a nightmare! I earned my living off computers on one of IBM's first standalones. I spent much time evaluating the early software to find the best word processing software as I produced legal documents for attorneys. I rated Wordperfect as best because it has two user-programmable keys! I retired using one of the perfect software programs for medical transcriptionists, i.e., Instant Text, where you defined your acronyms for it and it expanded the words for you. It upped my line rate so that I earned quite a bit more at the rate of 4 cents a line (not sure how that translates to British currency)! All hail to software developers, especially ones with very clear heads!

I'm 17, male and new to 80/10/10 (haven't read the book yet) and this forum. I've been 100% vegan and high raw for (almost) a month now.

I have autism, a lot of mental problems and poor health (Systemic Candida, severe Leaky-gut, a lot of allergies etc). I hope to improve my health with a high carb low fat diet...

Anyways, good luck everyone

Hi everybody!
My name is Jerome and I am currently interning with Dr. Graham in Costa Rica.
I have been interested in nutrition and into raw food for about 10 years, when I first became acquainted with it but it's only when I discovered about 80-10-10 that I could actually understand how it could work and started applying it full time, about 6 months ago.
I am planning to study with Dr. Graham under the CLC program and apart from nutrition I enjoy working out (many different activities, been changing throughout the years) and I enjoy music a lot too, playing the piano, the guitar and the drums as well as enjoying singing.
My dream is to work in health creation & fitness and help others enjoy better quality lives.
I'm really excited to be part of this community and look forward to a lot of good interaction on these forums.
Oh, and by the way, I'm French ;-)

Hey all!

My name is Jason and I've been a veggie-head for approximately 1/3 of my life (I'm 42 now). I discovered the 811 way of life 4 days ago as I was surfing Youtube and stumbled upon "Mimi Kirk - sexiest vegetarian" and just HAD TO take a peek (I'm a bachelor, after all lol). That video inspired me to start researching raw vegan diets. After a few fits (because there's a lot of cracked pots out there) and starts (I'm stubborn) I discovered Dr. D and his revolutionary book.

My curiosity won out at that point and I spent all day in the bookstores; unfortunately, I couldn't find it at any of the usual spots! I'm not saying that shocks me, I'm just saying...wait....I'd better stay in the shallow end of the pool ;) . ANY how, somewhere around noon I started up on the used book trail; I should tell you, I spend more than a fair amount of time in the used bookstores...bibliophiles are us, right?

Spending a day in my favourite places usually gives me an inner glow of well-being. No such luck that day; your book must be well loved because it was nowhere to be seen! Here's where I have to apologize profusely. In a fit of frustration I swiped it (I won't say how, but there it is). I give you my most heart-felt promise that as soon as work picks up I will purchase at least 2 hard copies, but I had to have it and there was no other immediate avenue. Can you ever forgive me? Please?

On to the happy part of the post!

I'm sure you saw my online name? Well I have to say, there is no other that fits me better :D . At the present I work with a moving company that does mostly residential moves for some fairly well-off customers; consequently, I move a massive amount of furniture that feels more like gold when you get it up in the air. I've always been able to lift and carry more than the rest of the crew with more speed and endurance than they think is normal. I've also always maintained that my abilities come from my diet, but now I'm absolutely positive!

Yesterday I made a wager with one of the guys while we were in our storage facility; he said there was no way I could pick up a full size memory-foam (the heaviest mattress known to man lol) hide-a-bed sofa by myself and carry it up 2 full flights of stairs. Just to make things more difficult, we only have one flight, so it turned out to be one flight up, then down, then up again. The bet was a 12-pack of beer, so I ended up losing out anyhow (drinking hasn't been my thing for a loooong time). I accredit all my bragging rights to you Dr. D!

The Last (And Best) 4 Days

I started my 811 the same way I started my vegetarian journey; I dived in and never took a step in the wrong direction. Since this Monday past I have been eating nothing but fruit and veggies. Here's what I did and how it made me feel over that time period:

Day 1

5 fairly large oranges for breakfast
1/2 lb of strawberries for a snack 2-3 hours later
6 bananas for a late lunch
1 big English Cucumber and 1/2 a head of romaine lettuce for supper
2 small zucchinis for a snack

I had a hard time stuffing those bananas down the hole, let me tell you! I thought that was a lot of food but my energy level dropped, my head spaced out and my eyes were a bit wonky (not exactly blur vision, but pretty close). All in all, not quite as pleasant as I'd hoped for. Oh well, tomorrow was another day.

Day 2

6 fairly large oranges for breakfast
1 lb of strawberries for a snack 2-3 hours later
9 bananas for lunch
1 head of chopped romaine with 2 tomatoes and a whack of parsley
4 small zucchinis for a snack

That day was top-notch except for the parsley; DO. NOT. EAT. PARSLEY! :mozilla_yell . I handle pain well (thank God) but I'm not particularly fond of it! At that point I sat down to read the rest of Dr. Grahams book; when I got to the section that explains herbs I doubled over in laughter as well as pain! One more thing...I can't make it through a whole smoke (nasty habit, but I'm working on it)!

Day 3

1 lb of strawberries for breakfast
7 fairly large oranges for 2nd breakfast
10 (11?) bananas for lunch
1 head of chopped romaine with 2 tomatoes and 3 small zucchinis for supper
1/3 of a head of romaine for a snack

This was my couch-lift day; needless to say, I felt phenomenal! Now if I can just fit more of the same into my stomach I'll be ready for a full day's work. Oh, and I haven't smoked all day! I'm not sure if this is a silver lining in a silver cloud, but I like it! Every time I light up I start to get dragged out and end up putting it out less than half way through. Good sign? I think so!

Day 4

8 fairly large oranges for breakfast
1 lb of strawberries for a snack
11 bananas for lunch

I feel as good or better than I did yesterday heehee haha hoho! I'M HOOKED!

I just reread my post and realized it sounds almost unbelievable; for the record, I've had a relatively easy transition because #1, the only dairy I have touched in the last 10 years is a bit of goat feta once a week, if that, and honey for my coffee (yes, I dropped that too) and #2, I'm a bachelor who doesn't like to cook so I raid the fridge for the crunchy munchies all the time. On top of that, I hate fast food with a passion. *puke*!

Oops! I went overboard on the words again.

Gotta go,
Gotta run!
To find a bike,
And have some fun!

P.S. I have one question; Is under-ripe fruit going to hurt all that much? I know starch isn't all that good for me but ripe fruit is hard to come by right now.

Powersurge, I just finished reading your post and loved it! What a personality! I hope you keep posting everywhere here! So please do a followup report--how is it going? Are you biking and not smoking? Are you still 811? How many calories do you take in every day to maintain your highly physical work?

Hello fellow health seekers!

My name is Clarissa Clark, and I am a student in Dr. Graham's CLC program. I am introducing myself as a student of Dr. Graham's, as well as a personal 811 chef. I have been attending each FoodnSport event every year since September 2009 merely studying, learning, growing, and helping. I have worked for Dr. Graham's events as the Head Chef at the Costa Rica Fasting and Feasting event and for the Walking Tour in 2011 and for this year in 2012. Although, I am not yet a part of the official FoodnSport full time staff. My job is working as a personal 811 chef for a couple in Virginia Beach for the moment, and am very happy with pursuing this opportunity.

I love to play (what many people call exercising or working out), dance, learn about health creation, read informational books on health and other fictional stories, and write poetry. My focus is on strength training and short bursts of fast, intense activity, in terms of my physical goals. I also have a focus on improving my ability to pass on my message of health in a way that is retainable and acceptable to other people. I feel that social skills are so incredibly important if I am to spread a groundbreaking truth to people who hold on to the false reality that is the Western Society/Culture. I'd like to get my message of health out there through my writings and my association with people/communities that I establish as my life goes on.

I am happy to be on this forum, and to start being a more regular visiter/poster :).

Much peace and love to you all,
Clarissa

Hello, Everyone:
My name's Pam, and I've been 80-10-10rv and 80-10-10v and just plain vegan for 16 years. I know that 80-10-10rv is best, but have not been able to stick with it, and I won't burden you with list all my excuses! :D I really feel the difference when I stick to the 10% fats. I'm able to get up easily in the morning after a good 10% day.

I injured myself a couple years ago while working in my garden, and actually asked questions about it on a blog of Doug's at that time. My elbow's just getting better, but my chiropractor says I should keep to VERY low weights, since I'm so "frail." So, I haven't been able to get back to my weight program. I really need to be on it in order to keep my weight up--I'm one of those "lucky" people who have a hard time gaining weight.

Anyway, enough about me. Can anyone tell me what they are spraying on our fruits and veggies?!?! On especially my organics, I smell something like detergent OR sometimes something like mildew! They are IMPOSSIBLE to get off my produce! I looked on the WWW and no one seemed to know, but questions were being asked. One suggested since the E-coli scares, they're spraying something nasty on them, even sprouts! YUK! Any suggestions, or is there an activist group that I can join to push for our rights to buy organic food--uncontaminated? Thanks!

Hello, Rob!
I can identify with you and the pnemonia after 10 years of being a vegan! I was vegan for 8 years and had tumors! After becoming 100% raw, the tumors went away. I was 100% for a couple years, until my father stayed with us for 7 weeks (he had dementia). It was grueling on my husband and myself, and we haven't been 100% since. :( Got to go, but I just want to tell you that you're on the right track now! May you have the strength to move onward and upward!

Pam

Hey, I'm Donovan Campbell and I presently live on Vancouver Island, BC. I've just finished reading 80-10-10 and have been fully LFRV for about 2 weeks! I would love to be involved in nutrition/health and fitness...but a wary of the mainstream schools...as their conventional "wisdoms" definitely do not fully converge with Dr. Graham's indisputable wisdom.

I am now 40 and have noticed a steady decline in my overall health since about 32-33 when I got a "desk job" and lost my overall fitness. Since then, diet has definitely suffered as well...and searches for weight loss became almost an obsession...online fad diets I've run over...but none of them really resonated with me...somehow I stumbled upon 80-10-10 and I instantly knew I found my "game changer".

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself and let people know what aspects of the low fat raw vegan lifestyle I am most passionate about. I have been following the low fat raw vegan diet for about 6 months now. It has been a bit of a rocky road - initially I was not eating enough fruit to meet my caloric needs so I lost weight and I did not have any weight to lose. I am happy to say that I have figured things out and my weight is now stable. Thank goodness!
There are two things that I am very passionate about:
-- I am a medical student from Canada and I am really interested in learning how we can combine alternative medicine with standard medical care. I struggle a lot with the idea of "normal" and I question whether being what society considers "normal" is actually in our best interest. If you have any experiences or thoughts you would like to share with regards to health care (alternative or standard) I would love to hear from you.
-- I have been living with an eating disorder for more than 10 years and I have always been determined that I would not let the illness limit me. I have received excellent care over the years, for which I am very grateful. One recurring theme in my care has been the encouragement to eat like everyone else - vegetarian was not a good idea, let alone vegan or raw vegan. However, I feel that having an eating disorder should not limit your dietary options, especially when you may be able to improve certain aspects of health through following a plant-based diet. If you have any thoughts/ideas/advice to share with regards to eating disorders I would love to hear from you.
Take care!

Hi there! Welcome to the forum and it looks like this place might be exactly what you need :-)
Don't hesitate to peruse the appropriate forums and ask specific questions.
I'm sure you'll find there is already a lot of discussions on alternative healthcare and this specific thread is really just meant for introducing ourselves.

Hi all,

My name's Rosine, I'm French and German, 33 years old and currently living in South France. I'm in the process of adapting to 811 and more or less successful with it.

Doug Graham saved my life, literally. I was sick as a child, sick as a teenager, very sick as a young adult... without 811, I'd probably have developed diabetes, lived a miserable life and died of cancer or something. :)

At the moment I'm on a huge weight loss journey. It's the most difficult goal I ever tackled so far. I've been overweight for, like, forever, and I always thought I would never manage to lose weight. I've already lost 10kg (22lbs).

But it's not just about the weight loss. I would like to be really fit and healthy. I've got big dreams for my life. I want to live up to my full potential as a human being. I believe I can only do that if I have maximum energy and mental clarity. So my goal is to reach the point where all processes in my body work perfectly well.

I'm happy to be here and looking forward to getting to know you.

Love,

Rosine

Greetings from Thailand.

My name is David Todd and I have begun the process of converting to raw. After buying and devouring 80/10/10 in December, I have put some principles to work and the result is 16.36 kg(36 pounds) lost. Some strength has also been lost. My goal is to bring the waist measurement way, way done to 36". So far 4" has been lost and there are 4" to go. I have cursed my body by adding over 100 pounds in the last 50 years and am determined to lose most of that. Probably knocked the Leptin hormone out of whack 40 years ago...OK, if you did the math that puts me at age 68.

Since I exercise and have a bit of muscle, I'll keep that and try to lose down to 15% body fat. I was at 34%, and technically obese when starting and have proceeded done to 26% by eating a ton of fruits and veggies-lots of fresh from my garden veggies.

Breakfast today was a 64 oz green smoothie with 6 bananas,1/4 honeydew melon, big fist full of greens and a cucumber all blended together. MMMMM ...sweet and filling.

It's exercise day- mostly body-weight stuff which will be followed by yet another giant salad.

Thanks for having this meeting place

Hi! My name is Robin. I am originally from San Francisco, but live in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. I am a mother of 3 young adults (turning 50 this year). Professionally, I am a kinesiologist, aura-therapist and herbal medicine practionner.
I have spent the majority of my life as a vegetarian. And have a good friend in France who is low-fat, raw food vegan. So decided to look into it last year, and unfortunately got into the high-fat type of information. Since nuts and I don't get along very well, went back to a standard veggie diet. Also, the meals were too complicated for my type of life. Lots of supplements and special foods to order. Not the answer!
Then saw my friend again, and he told me about 80/10/10. I bought the book and read it during vacation. Seemed right on to me. So I made the decision to start it. I am very new with this - actually I'm on day 3 with my husband :-)
I do have minor health issues that I am sure are going to be answered by the 811 (anemia and other vitamin deficiencies). And am looking forward to increasing my sport results as well (running, skiing, cycling, hiking). Who knows, perhaps a little anti-aging as well, while we're at it.
For the moment, I am very happy about doing the change and even though I am experiencing several detox symptoms, am quite motivated and serene ! I am looking forward to the support of the forum to help feed my motivation and make it easier for me to stay on track. And also to receive friendly advice from others who are much more experienced than I am.
Thanks for organizing this forum!
Robin

Hi Robin!

Welcome here. :) I'm happy you joined.

I've been struggling with anemia for over ten years (even when I was a heavy meat-eater). I have found that juicing huge loads of green leafy vegetables helps best. With apple it tastes great, too. Maybe juicing isn't too much 811, but I have found it to really help a lot.

I wish you all the best on your low-fat raw path! Looking forward to sharing and growing together.

Love from France,

Rosine

Hi Robin!
welcome to the forum!! :D

Have you had your B12 levels checked recently?
If you suffer from anemia you might want to look into it.
What other vitamin deficiencies do you suffer from?

all the best!

Hello Rosine and Jerome!
Thanks for your support.
To answer your question, Jerome, I am low on almost all levels of my blood test, but what are the highest deficiency is vitamin D and Iron. My homeopathic constitution is congruent with demineralization, so it was a sign that I needed to make major changes.
Red blood cell count is okay now, but the stock of Iron is still too low according to naturopathic recommendations. Just as a side note, I have a better iron count as a vegetarian then I did during the period where I followed the traditional medical advice to eat lots of red meat. So things are really improving.
For vitamin D I am taking a D3 supplement and have started sungazing as well as sunbathing - can't beat the sun to help make vitamin D. I have a positive attitude about what 811 is going to do for my deficiencies.
I have added green sprouts to my daily salad on 811 (I love 'em!). And have, in the past used wheat grass juice. So I agree 100% with you Rosine.
All the best,
Robin

Hello 8-)

My name is Jon am 44 and live in jacksonville fl. My wife wanted to give a plant based diet a go Jan 2012. (After watching Forks over Knives) So I was all in(I did cheat a bit with an occasional pizza or steak, or chicken wings from time to time though  ). When we started I was 205lbs and was running 10-15 miles a week. My weight by Jan of 2013 was 170lbs. (Highschool weight). Towards the end of the year I was upping my running mileage 20-25 miles a week. Unfortunately my old heel problems started bothering me again. I stumbled upon a u-tube video of Michael Arnestein the Fruitarian, and was really most compelled about the injury issues going away on a raw diet.

So about mid Jan 2013 I decided to go raw!! I am now running 30-40 miles a week just a month later, and heel pain has gone away :D . I weighed in at 150 this morning 2-25-2013. the 170lbs to 160lbs came off in the first week, and the other 10 since. I wore an old pair of 501's that have been hanging in the closet for 25 yrs 30 waist and they fit great LOL. I think at 5'9" my ideal running weight will level off around 135ish? And I actually have abs now, and look for excuses to go shirtless whenever possible :P .

My reason for going raw was for running performance, injury pervention, and I plan on running races now and want to see how fast I can get, and see If I can beat my time of 15yrs ago when I was running 1500miles a year and running races. And as a bonus the 811 seems to be the healiest way to go as well. I am totally new to raw and still learning a bunch every day.

Hello, Mike here, I'm 43, married, kids, living just south of Dallas Texas. I used to be fit, or at least lift weights regularly. Now years later I'm fat, out of shape, and look and feel like crap. Time to detox and get healthy and fit. Still not 100% vegan, bit working towards it full steam ahead. I'm in the process of reading :811book .

Hi All,

I'm Tabitha from Australia and I'm SUPER pleased to have finally reached what I see as the end of the long road in the search for the perfect diet!! Theoretically, it makes perfect sense to me, but putting it into practice has not been without it's challenges! I have been following 80/10/10 ever since reading Dr D's book a few weeks ago, but now that winter has well and truly set in, I'm really struggling to stay raw and I'm really craving salty flavours a lot! ...but warm, salty food is not part of the plan, so....after I return from my trip to America to attend the Woodstock Fruit Festival in August, I will be moving back to Far North Queensland (Australia's Florida!) to enjoy summer warmth all year round! :Strawb_cool:

I would love to found an 80/10/10 intentional community in Queensland, maybe in or near Townsville or Cairns?

Since adopting this new diet, I have lost 6kgs, several cms off my waist, and am now running daily, which is BIG for me, because I've always been a big ole book-worm couch potato!
