Costa Rica Fasting Internship
January 4 - February 8, 2014*
*Includes travel days. (dates are tentative, prices to be announced, taking deposits now)
The Costa Rica Fasting Internship is a rewarding and exciting, hands-on approach to health education. You will see before your eyes the healing power of the body and finally experience what healthful living truly entails. As interns, you have the privilege of acting as a lifeline, in service to people seeking to regain their health. In addition, this program is designed to give an intensive education in health creation.
This education includes:
- 100 hours of lectures in natural health led by Dr. Graham
- experience creating Simply Delicious cuisine
- critical thinking sessions
- daily discussion groups
- supplemental reading in Natural Hygiene, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and fasting
For a minimum of 36-40 consecutive days (depending on the length of the event), your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- monitoring the fasters
- befriending the fasters and helping them through one of the most vulnerable experiences of their lives
- caring for the facility as if it were your home
- preparing daily meals
- attending all lectures
- attending all meal discussion groups
We leave no moment unplanned during this month-long adventure into healthful living. This is a fully immersive program and when you leave you should know:
- how to create luscious meals for all occasions
- how to describe healthful living to other people with thorough understanding of the basics of health creation
- how to explain the fasting process and why it is beneficial to those seeking to regain health
- the basics of running a fasting facility and supervising fasts
- the dangers of fasting and why supervision is necessary
- what it takes to be a leader in the health movement

Due to the sensitive nature of this event and the atmosphere we must provide for the fasters, an application process is now in place so that we can ensure each faster and each intern receives the most rewarding experience possible. This event is as much for the interns' education as it is for the fasters' healing, and we need each person to be equally dedicated to the goal and outcome of this event. Out of respect to those who are putting their lives and health in our hands, we ask that only those who are serious about being a part of this incredibly rewarding experience apply. Please submit a nonrefundable processing fee of $75 with your application. This fee is in addition to the cost of the event, which is to be announced.

- Includes ALL expenses other than airfare and related taxes (and any private arrangements or expenses) to/from Costa Rica's San Jose airport including, but not limited to:
- taxi transportation between San Jose airport and hotel by airport
- hotel by airport the night before departure (room shared with other attendee)
- dinner at hotel by airport the first and last night of the event
- bus transportation between hotel by airport and the retreat location with group
- event lodging: shared room
- hands-on training in how to monitor fasters
- group educational lectures and discussions
- small health library access
- meals at the event
- food for your travels homeward
- wireless internet at the event
- use of facilities (e.g. pool, spa and nature trails)
- one visit to the hot springs
- linens provided
- laundry facilities
- gratuities/tips*
- Tentative dates: Arrive at the hotel in San Jose before noon on Jan 4, 2014 (or the day before at your own expense)

- *In past, we have asked people to donate $100 for gratuities for the event. This year, we have included it in the cost of the event.
