Halloween is approaching. No need to exclude your family - Simply make a few adjustments. 

 

Our staffer Kevin Cosmo enjoys hosting his own party for his kiddos. Their social community enjoys the wholesome games and snacks. I personally enjoy handing out non-food items like pencils and small activity books. 

 

This blogger below has curated some wonderful healthy and non-food items and there is a wonderful story of the "Switch Witch” who will come and gather the candy your kids collect and leave a different treat in return.  Read the Blog post here.

 

We used the Switch Witch last year and she left a board game behind. This year we think she’ll be leaving Ethan a new Lego set in return for his candy offering. My son loves getting out in costume and talking to everyone. I don’t love the candy. So, we talk about the Switch Witch whenever we talk about trick’or’treating. That way he is prepared and knows the plan.

1-2-3 Porridge
 

1 Apple - peel and remove core

2 Bananas - peel removed

3 Dates - dried*

 

Using the s-blade on your food processor blend the bananas until soupy.

Then add your dates. Blend until mix in. This process will also slightly warm your porridge. Using room temperature ingredients will aid in creating this wholesome filling dish.

Lastly add in your apple.Mix only until chopped.

 

Optionally, you can use 2 Dates and 3 Bananas. You may also add in a little cinnamon and/or nutmeg at any stage. Many people enjoy some raisins on top when served.
